A little time: A lotta dough for a good cause
-By Caley Tate

Evan and Patrick

Seventh grade students from Garnet Valley Middle School spent their weekend, April 9 and 10, a little differently than most middle schoolers. Evan and Patrick donated their time in efforts to help raise funds for Andy's Friends, located at the Concordville PetSmart. Evan and Patrick both have a strong love for kittens and cats and wanted to help out for a good cause. Not only did the boys do a great job on this as a school project, but they raised over $400 in cash, gift cards and supplies for Andy's Friends. A big thanks goes out to both Evan and Patrick!

Calling all cat lovers
-By Caley Tate

Andy's Friends recently received a phone call from a woman who has Ruby and her babybeen feeding a colony of feral cats that live in an industrial park by her home. This woman is very poor and has been using her meager income to feed the cats to the best of her ability, all 11 of them. The cats were reproducing at a rapid rate, which meant more mouths needed to be fed. This is when Andy's Friends got involved. They went out and trapped the cats, had them sterilized and then released them back to the colony.

The mother cat, Ruby, was trapped and had her babies at a foster home where they would be properly taken care of. Ruby gave birth to four adorable kittens, two black and two tabbys. The kittens, along with Ruby, will be socialized by the volunteers and put up for adoption when they are old enough. Andy's Friends is currently supplying the colony caretaker with food for the cats. Any donations would be greatly welcomed and appreciated! For more information, please contact us via the "contact tab."
