She is a good choice for kids or as a friend for another easy going cat.

A volunteer favorite!
Darling Diva: Abigail
Very sweet and curious, but a bit cautious until she gets to know you, Abigail is a gentle and docile little kitty. Does best in a quiet setting where she can learn to trust her new family. This precious girl has a foster boy who pats the bed and up she jumps for love! She can't wait for him to come home every day.
Cuddly and soft this petite girl will love to snuggle in bed and on your pillow to keep you warm. We have discovered that Abigail needs a home with NO other PETS and no kids under age 6. She is wonderful with older kids who are gentle and calm. Abigail is interactive and curious once she feels safe. This poor kitty just needs the right home and she will blossom into your new best snuggling friend.
Giving Tuesday - Support Cats Like Bear
Meeting kitties like Bear, now named Eugene, can change the way we think about rescue. Rescue means more than just re-homing, it means surgery, long term care, and time commitment. With support from our donors, we are able to rescue in the fullest sense of the word. Read more about his story below.
I'D LIKE TO MAKE A ONE TIME DONATION! Choose any amount from $1.00 - $1000.00
Bear's Story: Finding Unconditional Love
Found in north Philadelphia in an unsafe environment, Bear was in danger of abuse and definitely neglected.
His little ears had been covered time and time again in ear mites and flea infestation. It was clear that lack of care forced him to scratch his ears continuously over the years. When they finally healed over they were mutilated and infected. The infection was also in his mouth, with teeth broken and exposed nerves. Suffering from poor nutrition, he had painful dental abscesses and all of his teeth required extraction. Still he remained loving and gentle and always grateful for pets and scratches.
Thanks to donors like you, Andy’s friends immediately started him on a wholesome diet and made vet appointments to address his medical conditions. As you can see in his adoption pictures, his ears are mostly missing, but that didn't stop his new mom from choosing him! He was adopted into a wonderful home as an only kitty to be spoiled and loved. He is gentle with the three year old little boy who is now his best friend and his new mom who holds him on her lap for tons of love.
Stories from Andy's Alumni Millie
(and her Alumni brother Slinky!)
Millie was adopted by an Andy's Alumni family, where she met her new brother Slinky (Andy's class of 2018!) At first, Slinky wasn't sure about his new sister, but now they really love each other! Read below for the before and after story from their family. Sometimes love just needs a little time.
Before: "We absolutely love having Millie! Slinky is still having some issues adjusting but I think that they're slowly getting better with each other. Millie is a little scared of Slinky, but she is starting to look less anxious with Slinky near her and will even go up to sniff her without any altercations sometimes. They are especially good together in the afternoons, when they both like to nap. They usually will sleep in the same room throughout the day. Once they even shared a windowsill to look out of, which gives me hope they can be buddies! Or, at least not be adversarial.
Millie herself has definitely gotten pretty comfortable living here. She's been very playful and she loves to nibble on anyone who tries to pet her. We've discovered her favorite toy is the laser pointer and that she gets tired out pretty fast. She's picked a few spots around the apartment that are her favorite places to sleep. I am still hopeful that they can get along based on how they've progressed.
After: Millie and Slinky are getting along really well now! They will sometimes chase each other in a more playful way but they mostly just do their own things throughout the day. Millie likes to sleep in the living room at night, either on our chair, couch, or her own little bed. She likes to play with jingly balls, mice, string, and laser pointers. She's a fan of sitting on the window and watching the birds, biting everyone who tries to pet her, and sitting in boxes. She's eating well (maybe a bit too well) and we plan to take her to the vet next week.
Now that we are sure she and Slinky can live together peacefully, we are absolutely sure we are keeping her. Thank you for your patience while we let her and Slinky adjust to each other! We absolutely love working with Andy's Friends.
