Spring 2015 Appeal
Dear Friends of Andy,
The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, the days are longer and spring is in the air! It’s a wonderful time of year filled with new beginnings and fresh starts, but along with it comes the challenges of “kitten season.”
Between the months of March and October it’s possible for an unspayed female cat to have 2-3 litters, even becoming pregnant while still nursing her current litter. So this is the time
of the year that Andy’s Friends really has to shift into high gear in order to provide safe haven, food, and veterinary care for as many of these needy momma cats and their broods as possible.
Veterinary bills continue to account for by far the biggest portion of our operating expenses. Not only is every cat and kitten in our care spayed/ neutered and vaccinated, but other expensescan add up quickly if a cat is ill or has special needs.
The volunteers of Andy’s Friends work hard every day to make a difference in the lives of the cats and kittens that we serve. Just a few weeks ago we adopted out our 1000th cat, Angelina! And we continue to partner with area shelters to take cats that would otherwise be euthanized because of their lack of space to house them.
With so many cats in peril our work is never done. So we are once again asking for your support so that we can rescue these helpless cats and kittens that would otherwise have no hope.
Your contributions to Andy’s Friends truly do save lives!
Together we are making a difference.
