Adoption Weekend Kitties!
GIBBS: Gibbs is a handsome and sweet tabby boy who is an absolutely love bug. If you have a blanket, he will snuggle up and knead up a storm! Gibbs loves to be pet and gives lots of head butts! Looking for your new best friend, come meet Gibbs! This guy gets along well with other cats who want to wrestle and play, he is good with kids, but is not so keen on dogs. Playful and fun he will keep you entertained! A great all around guy who would fit in almost any active home.
CHEEZE: This amazingly handsome boy must be part dog! He follows the volunteers through the center like a puppy, "helping" with chores and supervising their work! He also often just leaves his tongue out like a happy dog - he's been checked by a vet, nothing wrong, he just likes to keep his tongue out! What a goofball. He is great with children and other cats and likes to play with feather wands and string. He is dog friendly and would love a home where he will give and receive lots of attention and love! Come and see this docile big guy today!
MAMMA MIA: Mama Mia is red brown Torbie (combination tabby & torti) who is 1-2 yrs old. This quiet sweet girl loves to get pets and rubs! She needs a few minutes to warm up and feel safe. Would do well in a quieter home with windows and laps. We feel she will really blossom in a home. Could live happily and peacefully with another quiet kitty friend. Come meet this precious girl.
EMERSON: This sleek young man will run right up to you when you come in. He likes laps, and even gives you hugs and kisses! He likes to make friends with other kitties, and would enjoy having a friend in his home - but would do alright as an only kitty too. He's great friends with Bitsy, who he was rescued and brought in with. Come meet this sweet and gorgeous house panther!
GOOSE: Sidekick to Captain Marvel, GOOSE is a handsome 10 month old orange boy who loves people. He will follow you around the house and hang out with you wherever you are! He loves to be pet and loved on, but also enjoys batting a stick and feather toy with eyes as big as the moon! Don't be fooled by his bursts of play energy, though - Goose is a docile sweetie whose #1 concern is just being with you.Great with children and friendly with other gentle kitties. Come and meet this volunteer favorite and fall madly in love!
SPARROW, MARMOSET AND SIBLINGS: Sparrow & Marmoset are here to remind you why two kittens are better than one (one of many reasons!) they look adorable snuggling together , but when they play together it's even more fun to watch! They also have 4 other siblings that will be available.
GRITTY: Meet Gritty! He is an adorable orange boy! Gritty is a talker and will sing for his supper. He is affectionate, gives head bumps in your hand, loves to be petted and scratched and will complain if his wet food in not served promptly. He is on the small side and quite adorable! Stories from Andy's Alumni Roscoe!
Roscoe's new family has shared with us that he is loving his new home !
"He sleeps on the bed all night, curled up close to me and actually on a pillow sometimes.
One of the pictures I am sending is taken from outside, because Roscoe is usually sitting in the window when I come home. He has a great view of the neighborhood and all the squirrels and birds and an occasional fox, all from the safety of being behind glass."

Q: Dear Andy, I love my cat, but I also love my new couch! How can I keep my kitty from scratching the furniture?
A: There are lots of things you can do to discourage scratching of furniture. You may need to try a few, because every cat responds a little bit differently! Try some of these ideas from Jackson Galaxy, and watch the video below!
1. Make sure you have scratching posts! Yes POSTS! Cats can scratch vertically, horizontally, or on an angle. Your cat may like your couch because it is providing one of these types of scratching.
2. Discourage scratching on the furniture by tightly covering the culprit spots with a sheet, foil, tape, etc. Eventually, when presented with other more fun options, your kitty will forget about their favorite spot.
3. Use a natural citrus spray on your furniture. Cats have an aversion to citrus.
4. Keep your cats nails trimmed. Cats nails should be cut about every 2-3 weeks.
