12 Days of Catmas
These special kitties have one wish this holiday season - to find a family to spend it with. Thanks to an overwhelmingly generous donation, all of our Cats of Catmas have had their adoption fees paid for. These sponsored sweethearts can be applied for in our application section.
Honeydew: is a young, gentle and sweet ginger boy ready for his forever home. Have you ever seen eyes so beautiful? He is handsome, and has a wonderful puuursonality. He doesn't mind other nice kitties, but his favorite snuggle buddy is you.
Polar Bear: Could keep you nice and warm! With gentle nudges to remind you to pet him, he's a sweet fellow with a kind, gentle soul. He would do well with another easy-going cat, or as your one and only. With eternally sweet, soulful sad eyes - it's hard not to pet him 24 hours a day.
Mickey: Holiday table talk not your thing? Let Mickey do it for you! Muscular and handsome, this boy is a big talker. he is always looking for stimulating conversation. This little boy will tell you all about his day, his hopes and his dreams. Playful, social, great with children and other cats. Come and meet this gentle and loving little boy in PetSmart. He will steal your heart
Hannah: Sometimes the biggest blessings come in small packages! Hannah is our most gentle little soul. Loving little lap cat, great with people, likes other friendly kitties and enjoys being snuggled and loved. Looking for a quiet little companion to spoil and snuggle? This is your kitty. A volunteer favorite!
Tipper: We can guarantee that you have never felt a kitty as soft as Tipper. 6-7 months old, he is a bundle of energy. He has been working out playing soccer to burn off those Thanksgiving calories he ate! Tipper would love to be at the holiday table with you in his Tux and meet the family. Come visit him at PetSmart this week! He is a fun loving, gentle, and silly boy who loves people, other cats and loves to play. He has the best purr. In fact, that's all he does all the time!
Caterina: has been waiting and waiting and waiting to find her home (over a year!). She's a unique looking cat with soft silver fur, and is always ready for a good face scritch. Don't let her face fool you - she's a kind soul who would love nothing more than to have a loving home, plus maybe some spots to watch the birds outside, or to relax in a sunbeam. She's extremely food-motivated - so be ready to have some treats in the house for her!
Henry the 8th: is a big ol' handsome fellow of about 5 years. His face is distinguished like that of a king! He is curious and likes to check out new things, but also enjoys some time on your lap for love. Check out that tail, too - just a tiny bit of white to match his socks!
Catherine of Aragon: is a sweet dilute tortie/calico girl with lots of love to give. She deeply appreciates face scratchies, and enjoys cuddle time with you and/or soft blankies. Can be found in sunbeams and warm spots around the house, when she's not right there with you. She even does well with other cats!
Giving Tuesday - Support Cats Like Bear
Meeting kitties like Bear, now named Eugene, can change the way we think about rescue. Rescue means more than just re-homing, it means surgery, long term care, and time commitment. With support from our donors, we are able to rescue in the fullest sense of the word. Read more about his story below.
I'D LIKE TO MAKE A ONE TIME DONATION! Choose any amount from $1.00 - $1000.00
Bear's Story: Finding Unconditional Love
Found in north Philadelphia in an unsafe environment, Bear was in danger of abuse and definitely neglected.
His little ears had been covered time and time again in ear mites and flea infestation. It was clear that lack of care forced him to scratch his ears continuously over the years. When they finally healed over they were mutilated and infected. The infection was also in his mouth, with teeth broken and exposed nerves. Suffering from poor nutrition, he had painful dental abscesses and all of his teeth required extraction. Still he remained loving and gentle and always grateful for pets and scratches.
Thanks to donors like you, Andy’s friends immediately started him on a wholesome diet and made vet appointments to address his medical conditions. As you can see in his adoption pictures, his ears are mostly missing, but that didn't stop his new mom from choosing him! He was adopted into a wonderful home as an only kitty to be spoiled and loved. He is gentle with the three year old little boy who is now his best friend and his new mom who holds him on her lap for tons of love.
Stories from Andy's Alumni Pumpkin, now Honeybun
Pumpkin, was fostered and then adopted by former Andy's Friends volunteers. Pumpkin was a very scared girl when they took her in and as you can see after lots of patience and love, she has blossomed.
The first photo is Pumpkin when she first arrived and the last photo of Honeybun (as she's now called) has a drawing next to it that was created by their daughter Avery.
"We LOVE Pumpkin, now called Honeybun on account of how sweet she is. It took her many months to feel safe with us, and we marvel at how brave she was as she slowly allowed us into her world. After not making any sound or playing for weeks, now she plays every day, takes care of two quilted dollies, and is quite the chatty kitty. She comes when we call and always wants to be where we are. She even sleeps with us, tucked between us. She especially loves being out on our screen porch, watching birds and chipmunks and sunbathing. I also want to share a photo of Honeybun and a piece of art Avery did using the photo as a model. I think it captures the spirit of Honeybun! Thank you for entrusting us with this lovely kitty, and for all the good work you and all the folks at Andy’s Friends do!"
